Christmas Quilling

With new snow on the ground it sure is starting to feel like Christmas - it really is just around the corner!   I remembered these quilled poinsettias I posted last year and decided to post them again.

These are actually quite easy to make and using striped paper adds a nice dimension to the poinsettias.

Here's a fun and super easy card!  The images were inked in Tangerine Tango and Cherry Cobbler using my Mixed Bunch stamp set.  The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.  Very cheery, eh?

Perfect Polka Dots

A perennial favourite of mine so it was bound to make another appearance!  What I love about the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF is how it give such a fresh look to my cards.  Check it out.

Petite Pairs (WM 122495, CM 122497), Stippled Bossoms (WM 126745, CM 126747)
Of course it doesn't hurt to have a gorgeous stamp set; Stippled Blossoms; for this card inked in Midnight Muse for the flower images and Gumball Green for the leaves. The birthday sentiment is from Petite Pairs. - a must have with 18 stamps in the set...can you say awesome!!!

Quilled Wedding Cake

My niece is getting married today and in honour of this wonderful occasion I made a special card for her and her groom.  I really wish the Shimmery White paper photographed better so you could see how pretty it is!  To get the embossing on the layer, I used the Holiday Frame embossing folder - it's great for more than Christmas cards!  Using my Extra Large Oval Punch on Brushed Gold paper made a lovely backdrop for my quilled wedding cake.  Oh, and if you're wondering, yes, I wanted the cake to be a bit wonky.  If you look closely you'll see I used Pearl Basic Jewels.  I love this card....it's simple, yet elegant.  Have a look.

I'm off to the reception - and a night of fun!

Fancy Fan & Quilling

Here's another crisp and clean card with a  mix of Stampin' Up and quilling, and yes, this is another card without a sentiment.  I know, bad me, although one is a gift card. I used my Fancy Fan embossing folder for both cards, and if you look closely you'll see the embossing is textured side up on one card only.

Stampin' Quillin'

It certainly has been a while; vacation - ah!  Well, I'm back, have internet, and a card to share with you!  While on vacation I enjoyed quiet mornings quilling flowers.  I chose three colours for the flowers and greenery - peach, light purple and green and used Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up! for the base and layers.  My all time favourite embossing folder Perfect Polka Dots makes a delicate backdrop and the Apothecary Accents Framelit layer is great for attaching the quilling.  Elegant!

Oh...you may have noticed; no sentiment! Say whaaaat?  Yup, I haven't decided who will be getting the card and which occasion, therefore no sentiment.

Hoppy Birthday!

What I love about card making is inspiration is everywhere! I had viewed the card from Mary Fish and knew I'd being making it....but with a few changes, naturally.  Unfortunately my camera work isn't great and the photo looks a bit washed out, but I assure you, it pops!

I stamped those adorable little froggies from the Moving Forward set in Gumball Green.  I changed the Happy Birthday sentiment from Sassy Salutations to Hoppy Birthday with a brad...cute, eh?  Hopefully you can see the Chevron embossing on the Basic Black cardstock - another new embossing folder!!   All the products used are from Stampin' Up!

Elegant Butterfly Punch

I have to say, the new Elegant Butterfly punch from Stampin' Up! is just so pretty - I see many more butterflies adorning my cards in the very near future, especially since it co-ordinates with the new Papillon Potpourri stamp set which is gorgeous!
This is the 2nd card for my card class and although this is a birthday card (which my mother has called dibs on already!!), some of the ladies changed it up and made it an anniversary card - I had a very creative group!  Once again, this is a CASE from the ever awesome Leena.  I made just a few minor changes but kept the card essentially the same - Twitterpated DSP, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey and Whisper White cardstock, Apothecary Accents and Finishing Touches Framelits, Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels (gotta have bling!),  The sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set; love the elegant font!

Stippled Blossoms

These wonderful colours I used for this card are Rich Razzleberry and Gumball Green from Stampin' Up!  Other than those awesome colours, this card uses the new Stippled Blossom stamp set - another favourite of mine!  And, I'm a big fan of polka dots so I was thrilled to see the Polka Dot Parade DSP in the 2012-13 catty.  Look closely at the layer with the sentiment - I used the new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, which co-ordinates with Stampin' Up punches.  It so easy to use and adds finishing touch.

Happy Canada Day!

An what a truly magnificent day it is - the sun is shining, there's a beautiful breeze, and as a country collectively we celebrate Canada Day!  Here's my 'Proud Mom' card from a few posts ago - today it's my Proud Canadian card!  Rather fitting, eh?

I love the crispness of these two colours together - Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White and the delicate look of the embossing made using the Big Shot and Fancy Fan embossing folder both from Stampin' Up!
Enough said; enjoy your day wherever you are.

Cheers!
